Cheisa collegiate dei Ss pietro e Stefano (The Collegiage Church of Saints Peter, Paul and Stephen) is truly worth a visit whenever you are in Bellinzona.
This ancient church is a building associated with the Renaissance period. It belongs to the Parish of Ticino. You will find great works of art from the 15th to 19th centuries.
Related to Fontana Trivulzio (aquatic plant) there are artworks dating back to 1465.
There is also a triangular Tympanum which consists of three statues, mirroring the Madonna and two angels. Also splendid sculptural marvels, portraying King David and King Solomon can be discovered. Don’t forget the paintings by Giovanni Airaghi and Federico Boni, from the late nineteenth century. I visited this church in 2017.
