Valkenswaard

The beauty that is visible every day can be something we get so acostumed by that we take it for granted. During the knockdown in March I went walking through my own hometown to try and capture some of the special elements.

Valkenswaard was named for the first time in archived documents in 1702, spelled a little different as Valkenswaardt. The name has been changed over 400 years, from Wedert to Weerd to Valkenswaard.

Back in the 12th century it was started by some smaller communities, more like a view farms, that clustered and grew into a small village.
